表現される動き
The exhibition of Movement

本展覧会では、絵画画面に表現された「動き」の表現のイリュージョンに着目しました。 映像作品ではそのもの自体が動いているので、鑑賞者は動きについて特別意識をすることはないでしょう。 しかし、絵画は静止しているので、そこに「動き」を表現するために、様々な工夫がおこなわれてきました。 止まっている絵画に、存在しないはずの「動き」は、どのような表現で使い描き出されているのでしょうか。
私たちは、動きを「対象」「軌跡」「記号」「連続」「筆触」の５章に分類してみました。それぞれの章で異なる方法で「動き」が、表現されています。

Seeing movement in film is not something the viewer is particularly conscious of, because the image is already moving. However, because the images in paintings are still, artists need to use different techniques in order to express movement. At this exposition we ask: How have the artists accomplished this in the following works?
We have divided techniques expressing movement in 5 different categories: objects, traces, symbols, repetition, and brush strokes.

*本展覧会は本学大学院の「博物館資料実習」の一環として、本大学院生並びに美術工芸資料館にてインターンシップを行っているオランダのライデン大学大学院２名が、共同で企画したものです。

*This exposition is a collaborative project between graduate students of this university, who are doing this as part of their museum and archives training, and two graduate students from Leiden University in the Netherlands, who are at this museum on an internship.
